The companies Daimler, ABB, KUKA, Rockwell, Siemens, netAllied and Zühlke together with the University of Karlsruhe and the University of Magdeburg jointly define and standardize the Automation Markup Language (AutomationML™) as an intermediate format for the Digital Factory.

AutomationMLâ„¢ will close the gaps between production design and shopfloor through interoperability between tools for all phases of the engineering process based on one lossless and scalable data format as open standard with high market acceptance.

i.e. AutomationMLâ„¢ will become the glue for seamless automation engineering.
