PLCopen is a vendor- and product-independent worldwide association. Its mission is to be the leading association resolving topics related to control programming to support the use of international standards in this field. The only trade association for the instrumentation and automation industry in Canada, the Canadian Process Control Association promotes the industry and its members to customers, academia and public bodies; provides a forum to exchange technical, industry and regulatory information; develops industry statistics; and, encourages professional and ethical behavior and quality standards among its members.

Modbus-IDA is a group that seeks the adoption and use of Modbus protocols.

ISA develops standards, certifies industry professionals, provides education and training, publishes books and technical articles, and hosts the large conference and exhibition for automation professionals.
