How to remove HMI while drive is online.

If the drive is an Allen

If the drive is an Allen Bradley PowerFlex 70 or 700 then you can use the ALT KEY and select the Remove HIM option from the keypad. Read your manual that came with the drive or you can download it from AB's website. I'm not sure about the other family of drives. The older ones you have to power down or they cause a serial fault. There is a parameter to to disable this fault on some drives with specific firmwares but I can't remember the specifics at the moment. The best advice is read the manual or call AB/Manufacturer's tech support line.
